What inspired you to be a lawyer and how that has affected you?

I was inspired by the need to promote fairness and equity, as well as to share my knowledge with existing policymakers to ensure that policies advocating for both women and the vulnerable are integrated into organizations. My passion for promoting fairness inspired me to join the legal profession. Finding myself within the system, I've been able to contribute through policy-making and mentorships.

In addition, mentorship has been a significant aspect of my journey. Guiding aspiring lawyers and sharing insights from my own experiences allows me to contribute to the development of future legal professionals who are committed to the principles of fairness and equity.

Overall, my inspiration to become a lawyer stems from a deep-seated belief in the importance of fairness, equity, and advocacy. It's through this lens that I approach my work every day, striving to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those I serve and in the broader legal landscape.

How do we create more inclusion for women in law and society?

Creating more inclusion for women in law and society is paramount to ensuring equity and diversity in our profession and broader community. While it's true that many women are studying law and entering the legal profession, statistics reveal disparities in their advancement and representation compared to men.

To address this imbalance, I believe in challenging the status quo and actively involving women in various activities, conferences, seminars, and training programs within the legal profession. By providing opportunities for skill-building and networking, we can empower women to excel in their careers and contribute meaningfully to the legal landscape.

Furthermore, as senior lawyers, it's incumbent upon us to pave the way for the next generation of female legal professionals. Through mentorship and recommendation for opportunities, we can offer guidance and support to young women navigating the complexities of the legal profession. By sharing our experiences and insights, we can help them overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.

It's also important to recognize and address the unique challenges that women face, both within the legal profession and on the home front. By coming together as a community, we can provide a support network that encourages women to thrive professionally while balancing their personal responsibilities. This may involve advocating for policies that promote work-life balance, providing flexible working arrangements, and fostering a culture of inclusivity and support.

Ultimately, creating more inclusion for women in law and society requires a collective effort. By leveraging our collective expertise, experience, and resources, we can empower women to break barriers, and become influential leaders in both the legal profession and society at large.
